PopJar for a personal account

What do I post? Start with what you did this weekend.

No business, no brand, nothing to sell. Just a life, a hobby, a thing you made or did, and a page you have not touched in months because you never know what to say. PopJar turns a photo and a sentence into a finished post, built from how you talk, so the good stuff in your phone has somewhere to go.

Your week, and where the post goes missing

You made bread on Saturday. You finished a painting, or a hike, or a bookshelf. Sunday night you opened the app, looked at the photo, typed half a line, deleted it, and closed the app. It is not that you have nothing to post. It is that the photo is the easy part and the words never come.

The lists online say to post a throwback, a story, a question for your friends. Fine, but with what words? You are not trying to build an audience. You just want the thing you did to look like it mattered, without sounding like an ad for yourself.

Step by step

What you hand PopJar, and what comes back

  1. You send

A photo of something you made or did this weekend.

    PopJar makes

A finished post with your photo and a first line about the moment, the way you would say it. Nothing in it that you did not give it, and no next step unless you asked for one. You check it and say yes, then you post it.

  2. You send

A voice note on the walk home: what you did, who was there, why it was a good day.

    PopJar makes

PopJar writes it back to you first so you can see it understood. Then it makes the post from what you said, and nothing you did not say.

  3. You send

A short clip from the day.

    PopJar makes

A short video built from your own clip, with your words on screen so it works with the sound off. Nothing stock, nothing added.

Then you save the picture, copy the words, and post it yourself. PopJar does not post anything for you today; scheduled posting is being built and is not switched on yet.

The difference

What PopJar learns about you

A tool that does not know you writes a caption that could sit under anyone's photo, with a cheerful line you would never say out loud. PopJar shows you what it picked up about you, you fix any line that is wrong, and every post is built from those lines, your photos and the way you actually talk. It is not a profile and it is not a score. It is the handful of things a post about you is built from.

  • Who you are, in your own words. PopJar learns it from what you tell it, and you check it.
  • What you are into: the bread, the trail, the garden, the band you follow. PopJar picks it up from what you send.
  • How you talk: dry and short, or warm and full of detail. It reads that from your own words.
  • Your real photos. PopJar works from them and never swaps in a stock picture.
  • The things you keep coming back to, so a post starts from what matters to you.
  • Whether there is a next step at all. For most personal posts there is none, and PopJar does not invent one.
  • You check each line and fix anything that is wrong, in plain words.

This month

Six posts you could make this month

Plain ideas, not PopJar’s writing. Each one starts with something you already have on your phone.

  1. The thing you made this weekend, with one line about how it went.
  2. A photo from a walk, and the one thing you noticed that nobody else would.
  3. The before and after of a corner of your home you finally sorted out.
  4. A throwback: a photo from a few years ago and what has changed since.
  5. Something you learned this month, in two lines, with the photo that goes with it.
  6. A thank-you to a friend, with a picture from the day, if they are happy to be in it.

Questions people posting for themselves ask

I have nothing to post. What do I send?

Whatever is already in your phone. The bread, the walk, the half-finished shelf. Send the photo and one sentence about it, and PopJar makes the post from that. The things that feel too small to post are usually the ones with a real story in them.

Will it make me sound like I am selling something?

No. There is nothing to sell, and PopJar knows that. It writes about what you did, built from how you talk, with no pitch and no next step unless you give it one.

Can I post a photo with my friends in it?

Only with their yes. When a picture shows a person, PopJar asks whether you have their permission before it uses it, and records your answer.

Does PopJar post it for me?

Not today. Once you approve a post, you save the picture, copy the words, and post it to Instagram or Facebook yourself. Scheduled posting is being built and is not switched on yet.

Will this get me more likes?

PopJar does not promise that. PopJar is building reports on how a post does. They are not switched on yet. Until they are, PopJar shows you nothing rather than a guess.

Do I have to pay for this?

Not to start. Start with a free trial of 14 days, no card. After that, the free plan: up to 5 posts and 1 short video a month. If you post more than that, the Creator plan is there, at one set price each month.
